A hearing of the petitioners for the removal of Judge Loring from office was held before the Committee of the Legislature this afternoon, It was contended by the eouncil for the petitioners, 8. Webb, Jun , Wendel Phill- Nips and C. M, Ellis, that it waa necessary, under the eonstitution, to allege misconduct in office as a cause Sor removal, but they only argued the general unfliness of Judge Loring for the office he held, saying public opinion and the interests of the commanity demanded his removal. L, Crandall, of Syracuse, a well known friend of education, died in this city last night.
