MONEY MARKET. Sarurpay, Nov. 19-6 P M. The stock market was quite irregular this morning. Some of the fancies advanced, and somedeclined. A good portion of the purchases were for cash, and it looks as though the bears were closing up their eontracta, price to a withdrawal from the market, At the firet board, to- day, Erie bonds, 1871, advanced 3 per cent; Hudson River Railroad first mortgage bonds, 3;; second do., 3{; Llinois bonds, :; Nicaragua, ); Coal, 4; Harlem, 34; New Haven Railroad, }{; Michigan Central Railroad, 1); Galena and Chicago Railroad, 1. Canton Company de- clined 34 per cent; New Jersey Zinc, 34; Crys'al Palace 34; Reading Railroad, 3. At the second board most of ‘the fancies were buoyant and in demand. Camberland went up % per cent; Nicaragua, 1s; New Haven Railroad, 2%; Brie Railroad, 13; Hudson River Railroad, 134. ‘There is no mistake but that the bulls have movements im the fancies all their own way. The bears will show their sense by getting out as soon as possible, and keep- ing out fora time. The inflation may continue for some weeks, and prices touch very high poiuts. There is » good time coming for the bears, but at some remote period. It ie useless to kick against the pricks. ‘The receipts at the office of the Assistant Treasurer of the United States at this port, to-day, were $113,556 57; paid, $202,341 15—balance, $5,694 210 73. ‘The Knickerbocker Insurance Company have Ceclarec a dividend of ten per cent. ‘The Preourseur d’ Auvers, of the 29th of Ost., contains paragraph dated Darmstadt, Oct. 26th, in relation to ‘the proposed branch of the Bank of Darmstadt in New York, That paper says: In the session of the Board of Directors of our Bank, which was held on Saturday, October 22d, at which the Prince de Hohenlehe Ss. among the resolutions passed was one to establish a branch in New York. The person who is to take charge of it departed immediately for America, ard it is thought that the regular trausac: tion of business betveen New York and Darmstadt will be brought within two months at farthest. This branch will be of great value to emigrants, by enabling them to ex- change their funcs fo: billy upon New York. The anthracite coal tonnage last week was large, reach ing nearly one hundred thousand tons, The market for ccal is hardly maintained. There has been no decline in prices that we hear of, but the market is slack and tre supply on hand from the Schuylkill region ix gradually increasing. The supply of coal will be short of last yeur’s production, but consumers seem to be accommoda ing themselves to the market. Each family is putting ina ton or two less, and will endeavor #0 to economine as to make it last. The enhanced price will tend in some mea- sure to make people saving ; #o that it in hoped that the winter may be passed comfortably and without a further advance in the price of fuel. There was shipped by the Schuykill navigation for the week ending on Thursday, 25,025 tons, making the total shipments this season 801,864 tons, ageinat 737,639 tons to the same time last year. The Reading railroad brought down for the week ending on Thursday 40,886 tons, and for the seasen 1,516,121 tons, against 1,688,468 tons to the same time last year. The shipments on the Lehigh for the week ending with Saturday last, were 33,800 tons, and for the season 058,844jtons, against 1,043,007 to the correspond- ing period of last year. The weekly shipments, although 1,807 tons better than for the corresponding week of last year, show a falling off of 1,746 tons from the shipments of the preceding week. Stock Exchange.
