Corover Hilton yesterday held an inquest at 304 Green- wich street. on the bedy of James Kelly, aged 34 years, a rative of Ireland, who came to his death by exposure to the heat of the sun. Catharine Kelly sworn, says—I am wife of the deceased; erked along shore; yestercay afternoon, about three o'clock. he came home sick; be complained of great heat .| and dullneer, and a burning sensation about the stomach; 1 did not think him in a dangerous condition; he died suc denly, between seven and eigkt o’clock in the evening. The deceased, it seems, was at work on board the ship Mary Clark, lying at pier 10 North river. A verdict was rendered of, ‘ Death caused by congestive apoplexy, from over exertion and exposu'e to the heat.’’ Yesterday, Coroner O'Donnell held an inquest at No. 6 Bowery, at the drug store of Wm. A verdict was rendered by the jury of “Death caused by a coup de soleil.” Corover O'Donnell yesterday held an inquest at a house in Tkirty-severth strect between Tenth and Eleventh avenues, on the b-dy of James Wordland, aged 34 years, a native of Ireland, who came to his death by exposure to the heat of the sun. Charles Brennan sworn, says—The deceased and my- self were employed by Mr. Galligan, (the plumber,) puttieg down the Croton water in the Buhth avenue, near Twenty-fifth street; abou: three o'clock this after- noon I saw the deceased pick up the tools and start on his way home ; he left someof his clothes bebiod him ; I thought be was not then in his senses; we came on towards Thirty afth street, and he fell in the street; a crowd gathered round him, and ina short time an officer took bim to the Twentieth ward police station house, where he died The jury rendered a verdict of ‘Death caused by a coup de solett.”” THE CASE OF JAMES WILLING. Coroner Wilhelm yesterday neld the inquest on the bedy of James Willing, the sailer who died at the hospi- tal om Wednesday, in consequence, as was supposed, of a revere beating and violence inflicted on him by a man named Engene Sullivan. It appears now, by the evideace before the jury, that the deceased came to hia death by injuries in acc'dentally falling out of a window into an ares at his lodging house. A verdict was rendered in accordance with the above facts. SCALDED TO DRATH. Coronor Wilhelg on Wednesday held an inquest at 218 West Forty-third street, on the bey of a boy named Pat- rick Kearley, aged thirteen years. a native of Ireland; who came to bis death by accidentally falling into a tub of calding water, in the carpet factory of Mr. Higgins, in Forty third street. Andrew Kearley sworn raya, that on Tuerday evening at about five o’clock. a man cailed at my house and told me that abcy bad met with an accident in Mr. Higgins’s carpet factory, avd that be came to look for his father; when he told me the name, I informed him that I was the father; I went with him, and on going down Forry- third street we met the ¢eceased; he was being car: ie tte: men to my house. be was then alive, and com- plained of much pain; » physician was sent for, who ate tended and prescribed for him; he died at about ten o’ciock that night. The mother testified that before she went down to work she placed the child in the cere of a Mrs. Hodges, but before leaving bim she gave him a teaspoon full of’ paregoric, in order to keep him quiet until her retura. On her return the child was in convulsions and soon after died. A verdict was returned accordingly. i DEATH BY FALLING FROM A BUILDING. Coroner Hiltoa was called to hold an inquest on Weds day on the body of Thomas McDonnell, a laborer. who acci- dentally fell from the fifth story of a new buildiag, situ ated at No 496 Kighth avenue, receiving a fatal injury.
