Resolved, That the course of the Sachems of Tammany Society, in whose election the people had no voice, and over whom they have no control, is a flagrant and unpre- cedented usurpation of the rights of the democratic party, and should be resisted at the outset, to prevent the in: terests and action of the party from being controlled by cliques and factions. Resolved, ‘That we approve of the course of Alderman Thomas J. Barr, William Sinclair, and Thomas W. Con- stantine, the delegates from this ward, in refusing to ap- pear and submit to the said Sachems ‘the rights of this ward, and we cordially approve the protest read by our delegate, Thomas J.
