He then wanted to see the re- gister of marriages himself and afer looking through it, be acked me to give him a certifieate of the marriage of two parties, which he raw recorded on the books; I gave bim a transcript of the record of the marriage which he sawon the bouks; it was not the marriage of the parties he firet asked about; there was no record of the parties he first pamed; I thivk this was on Saturday; Lawson looked at the marriage record only a few minut transcript on there pepere is not the transeript I gave him; the forgery ov this paper, “F,”” is signed the way I Ivign my marriage certificates but is aot my signature; it is signed in the same manner the manuscript was which I did giveto Mr Lawson: I gave that certificate (or the tranrcript) about two months ago. I think; I made an affidavit relative to the transcript I gave Lawsoa before Jobn Newhouse; the purported affidavit upon the paper “E.” is in about the same form and l language asthe one [ made before Newhouse; this, however, is ‘not the same. but is false and fictitious; the office of Mr. Newhouse is but two or three blocks from my re-idence. Tho following is a copy of the furged and fraudulent paper: State of New Jersey.
