EOMMERCIAL AFFAIRS |. MONEY MARKET. Monvar, June 14—6 P.M, ‘There was quite » speculative excitement in the stock ‘market, this morning, and all the fancies were exceed- ingly buoyant, The bulk of the transactions was for cash. Aj the first board, Delaware and Hudson advanced 23, per cent; Morris Canal, %; Canton Company, New Jersey Zinc, %; Erie Railroad, 3; Marlem, 1;; Long Inand, ; Norwich and Worcester, 1; Stonington, \; Reading Railroad, 3; Hudson Railroad, };; New Haven Railroad, 34; Erie Bends, 1871, 4s; do. 1862, 4; Farmers? Loan, 2, At the second board, there was a slight reac- tion, and prices receded a fraction. Erie Convertible Bonds were in demand, and the sales were large, improv- ing from the opening. Delaware andlludson has advane- ed more rapidly than any other stock on the list. When Une last dividend was made, the stock was selling at 117, and the improvement since has been with the dividend, tenper cent, Morris Canal has been in better demand Intely, doubtless owing to the large receipts. The tolls this year, up to the 9th of June, show an increase of $23,676 61, compared with those for the same period last year, The New Jersey Zinc Company has been quite firm for some days past, and outsiders are purchasing for investment, in view of large dividends, The receipts of the company since the 1st of January last have been $78,578 93, from the sales of paint alone. and the increase from month to month is very great, In February, the sales were only $4,166 31, while in Muy they were $36,000. ‘The company feel confident that from the sales of paint alone, a dividend of twenty-five per cent per annum can vedeclared, Nothing has yet been officiaily announced lative to the July dividend on the stock of the Eric jiroad Company, It is the prevailing impression that it will be four per cent. The doubt existing has not ope- rated unfavorably on the market value of the stock Harlem was active today, at an advance. ‘There ap; tobe a strong under current in this stock, which the bulls cannot contend against successfully. It is one of the nivet promising railroad stocks on the list, and withal the cheapest. Norwich and Worcester has nearly recovered from ihe effects of the unfavorable report of earnings for May. Ithas advanced ubout two per cent from the lowe st point. Hudson River Railroad was freely offered to- y. and as freely taken, at better prices, befure the close. Keading Railroad is steadily moving upward, notwith- standing the largeamount of stock in the market. It is in strong hands, and prices will without doubt be main- tained The receipts at the office of the Assistant Treasurer of Chis port, today, smounted to $90.225; payments, $30,600 17—baiance, 4,092,114 65.
