It will be seen that the exporte to Liverpool, during the week, have been quite small, We can hardly conceive it possi_ ble that a week could elapse without greater shipment, of merchandise to Liverpool than appears im the above statement. There have been further exports of phos- phate of lime to Londom. The quantity sent forward weekly, thus far, has been small; but we shall, before the lapse of many months, carry on a large trade in this article. The consumption in England alone is equal to at least fifty theusand tons per annum ; but we cannot sup- ply such a demand at once. Very little cotton has been "hipped from this port the past week ; but the exports from the South have, fortunately, been large, which is at this time particularly important, as so much depend, upon keeping up # good supply of sterling exchange. ‘The stock of cotton on hand in the Southern ports, at the late&t dates, was considerably larger than at the same time last year. This gives a wider margin for ship- ments, and from the movements which have taken place, within the past few deys, we should judge that, by th» first of November, the aggregate exports from the United States would be equal to those for the corresponding perioa in 1850, ‘The report of the Stonmgton Railroad Company for the year ending the 3lst August, 1851, gives the annexed statement of operations during that year :— Bronmaron Ra.noap. $128 043 08 73,280 13 Balance of interest a accounts... —_— WTS At Balance on hand August 31, 1850............. 7,727 82 Total...
