A few months would at this rate, nearly double the amount of specie held by our banke; but as s large amount of gold dust destined for England comes to this port, we cannot calculate upon such # rapid, increase in our stock of bullion. There is, however, no doubt but that within the next four or five months our receipts will be many millions more than the exports, Beyoud tha. we know nothing. A great accession of specie to our present supply would, for a time, relieve our money markets, aud it would also lead to another expansion of credits, to @ xenewal of heavy importa- tions, and in time, to another revulsion similar to that we are now just emerging from, It is, therefore, our impression that from the Istof November to the let of May next, we shall have better times than after that. According to a statement under this head, in this day's paper, it appears that $31,289,106, in specie, has been exported from this port since the Ist of January which, deducted from the above aggregate, shows that only $24 918,247 worth of :aerchaudise has been exported against $110,792.506 imported.
