Allen, the Presi- dent of Girard College, died yeeterday in Centre county, while on her way to visit her relatives at Bellefonte. She had suffered from a severe attack of dysentery while atthe college, but becoming convalescent, had started for heme, but suffered a relapse before reaching her destination, which proved fatal. The same disease ha, been very prevalent at the college this summer, and has ewept off three of the orphans Two men, who were ou a gunning excursion down the river. made fast their boat to the stern of a cunal boat in tow of & steam tug. and on reaching the mouth of the Sehuythill, cast off their line.
