@tained, not one of the 107 voting against the bill would bave voted for it to-day; but if are Tamers 4 vous to-day had been required, they é been 7 mire *h ore ia up to-morrow. ‘here is no apprehen- sion of any serious (rouble, although, from the re- gulte of the last three days, it is perfectly idle to count upon ay thing, except the passage ot the bill with « hurrah ‘The State Agricultural Fair. Axsany, Sept. 6, 1850. An Epitome of the Affair—The Grownds—Arti- cles for the World's Fair in London, §¢., £¢. Having enumerated a few of the animals and articles exhibited at the great State Fair, we now proceed to give a somewhat brief description ef the general appearance of the show grounds, anda few remarks upoa the stock and the various articles of exhibition. We may without hesitation assert, that the State Fair of 1850, in an agricultural point of view, has been the greatest ever yet witn ssed in this State, and hea been equal, if not superior, to that of any other State. in point of the numbers and eacel- lency of the stock, the collection of farmung im- plements, the variety of new and important ma- chines for agricultural purposes—the extensive collection of i«rexgu and domestic articles, and the counU¢ss muiutudes of visiters, it has fairly eclipsed everything of the kind ever yet seen in this country. The cuttle show, as to the sy riority inuumber and yuahty, ous entirely exce: ed our highest expectations. It represented all the breeds of unproved cattie, embracing specimens of native and foreign cuitle from every section of the State. The collection of Durham and Deven cattle Was the most extensive, and is said to have surpassed wll previous exhibitions. There were also a considerable wumber of Ayrshires, the most remurkatle of which, may, pertiape, be the collection of Mr. Roswell u. Colt, New Jersey, consisting of bull, a cow anda calf. These were distinguished for their tegh breeding, and for their possessing, in an eminent degree, ull @ie charac- teristics peculiar to the Avrstire ra Cattle of a cross breed were aivo very ubundant. We also observed thet Mr J. B. Beekman, of Columbia Co., exhibited on the grounds 1a unmense Wagon drawn by tea yoke of tine matched oxen, beauti fully decorated with branches, and containing al the productions of bes (arm. ‘The show of horsea Was ulso very pumerous, and remurkable in point ot bewuty aud excelieace. It would be useless to attempt to describe the peculiarities of the various races, much Jess to make a selection, for they were all superior in quality The cotlection ot steep wes also very numerous. There were samples of al! the favorite classes; we observed a variety of the long aud middle-wooled stock, also fine suxons, cots woolds, merinoes, south- downs, lrice tle The exmibiticn of swine was not so much re- markable for its numbers as for itssuperior quality. We found represented excellent specimens of the native, foreign, bssex, Berkshire and grass fed swine Some boos of the Mesex and Berkshire families were distinguished tor their extraordinary s1Z6. The collection of ;oultry was complete,. repre- senting alithe varieties of Shangha, Malay, stiver pheasant, Polanc, chitagong, Muscovy ducks, Bre- men, Chinese and wild geese, bancaims, ete. The mee! anics’ ball, which was the most com- plete of ali the various departments, contained such & Variety worthy of atieation, that it is al- most impossible even to allude to them all, To enumerote ail the merits of the muttitedinous ar- ticles exmbiteo i this hall, would be a herculean task, to undertake whicn we coafess ourselves ut- terly incuapeteut Let i: suffice to suy that the exhibition in the mechauics’ hall was the finest and most extensive, in reference to inventions for agriculture! improvemeat, ever yet seen im this or any other State, We mast, nowever, meation one ar- ticle, Which seemed iu an especial degree to attract the nouce and excite the admiration of almost ail fg visiters. This was a saddle, called Jen- Liud, and manufactured by Lyman J. Lioyd, Albeny; tis mounted with gold, aad desigaed for the world’s fur at Londou, mis5l. He exhid- ited also sofhe herorss and saddies with gold old und silver mountings, which certainly do cre- ditto the manufacturer ‘be manutacturers’ hall, was also conspicuous for its variety of oruicles and curiosities, the grea- ter portion of Which was of Albanian production. The exbibinon chy tly consisted of worsted work in Stk, cotton und Other imoteriuls; of carpetings, anime! pointing, fine epeeunens of upholstery, wax and other aruberl de splendid dagurreo- types, peper bungings, ete. This hall was one of the principal pa of attraction But ibe crotre of wttractiou was, undoobtedly, the floral departine nt, Which Was a perfect jam yester- terdsy hatiodey. Besides the floral temple, in the centre, wih « mardie status of the Goddess of Flower, we observed two others of « similar des. cr one, Which was desigued by Dr. Wendell, War srivated mp trent; the other by Mr. Newcomb, of Albany, Wee pl-ced atthe other extremity, The space beiweenghem was filled up with bouquet fuchaus, ond toeigu towers, The specimens o plavts and flowers, and the great variety of fruits, Were eabibiied on shelves below, all most beauti folly wirrnged.
