A portion of the falling off in shipments of cotton direet from our ports to the eontinent of Europe, will be supplied from Great Britain, The inerease reported inthe shipments te Northern ports, has been offict by increased shipments from Northern ports toforeign ports, Up to the 9th of July, 1849, the exports of cotton from the port of New York to foreign ports amounted to 236,730 bales; to the same date this year, 245,197 bales. Increase this year, 9,067 bales.
