Interesting Correspondence—Another Good Letter from General Taylor. Many letters have been written to General Taylor, and he has given some excellent ones in reply, in reference to the Presidency and his views of the leading political questions of the day. One or two of his answers, how- young ati soucd. | ever, to political speculators, have not been characterized corner ticsie’' | by that clearness, tersenees, and simple Incldness of style which distinguished his official communications. We suppose, that in these exceptions, the cld soldier was annoyed by his applicants, and disposed of them with the least possible ceremony, as any man would dismies an unwelcome visiter, whose object 1s to cross-question, rather than to give friendly advice, In these cases, deliberate and studied reply was, perhaps, too much for the soldier's patience. We have seen letters in the hand-writing of Gen, Taylor, the style of which, as far as the subject would admit, is the fac simile of his ad mirable despatches. We have to-day beon favored with the reading of a rivate letter from the distinguished chieftain, which Ras suggested the foregoing opinions.
