The notes on hand have largely increased, and the bank appears to be rapidly recover- ing from the effects of the recent drain of bullion and embarrassments in its operations. ‘The exportation ot specie from England, in payment for breadstuffs, may continue to # moderate extent for some time longer; but the importation of the precious metals, from all sources, into England, will, without doubt,"greatly exceed the ex- port. The bank will thus be fortified against any ordi- nary demand for bullion, which depends, in extent and continuance, entirely upon the condition of the har- vests.
