Bulletin. Later from Santa Fe. 1 Sr. Louis, June 15th, 1847. A party of traders have arrived here, who left Santa Fe, May 13th, Every thing was tranquil there, as fur as the natives ‘Were concerned, but great dissatisfaction existed with Pw military, on account of the goverument of Col. ice. ‘The former accounts ot the dissipation of the officers and soldiers are fally confirmed. ‘The traders on their route found the Indians very hos- tile, They attack and rob parties of Americans when- ever they can. Government has sustained great losses by them, as they have stolen a large proportion of the renttle, mules, &e., belonging to the United States, and also many from the volunteers and traders. On the 28th they attacked a large train of trading teams, killed one of the party, and stole one hundred head of stock. ‘A party of Americans were coming to Santa Fe with despatches from General Kearney, who is soon expected. ‘The volunteers at Sunta Fe are extremely anxious to get home again, but in this they will be grievously dis- appointed, ——y gY THE MALLA, Affairs in Washington. Wasmixatow, June 19, 1847, Local Affairs. ‘Tho sky is all overcast, and we expect more rains so that the corn crop in this region will be pushed ahead, and the prospect of a fino yield largely enhanced.; It has become a question here whether Dr. Douglass intends to get the Long Bridge over the Potomac mend- ed this summer or not, A rent was made in it by a flood last November, and six months ,have elapsed, and stil the hole is open, though the money has been appro- priated to close it up. ything like the energy which the importance of the market communication with Virginia demanded, the bridge would have been put in order two weeks after the adjournment. Reception of the President—Military and Civic Parade \—Troops for Vera Cruz—Fire Rioting, $c. ‘The entire military force of Baltimore has been or- dered out to-morrow, at one o'clock, to join in the recep- tion of President Polk, who will arrive here at two o'clock, P. M., on his northern tour. He will leave for Philadelphia in the nine o'clock train on Wednesday morning. The Mayor and a Committee of the City Council are also arranging for a civic procession, and there is no doubt but that his reception in this city will be equally as extensive as that about to be tendered to him in New York and Philadelphia, ' ‘The Sonsof Temperance aro making extensive propara- tions here for a grand celebration on the fifth of July. Indeed. there seems to be a general disposition evinced to celebrate the fifth of July as the anniversary of inde- pendence. The fine bark Margaret Hugg is to sail this morning from this port, for Vera Cruz. She has been chartered by the government to take out troops, and will take from Fort McHenry company D of the Voltigeurs, number- ing one hundred and two men, under command of Licut. Marriott. She is to stop at Fortress Monroe, and there take on board company K of the same regiment, under command of Capt. Caldwell. Firemen’s riots are again becoming quite common in Baltimore. The Independent Company have acareely waited for the remains of the gallant Law to be depo- rited in his grave before they insult his memory by giv- ing to the compauy in which he took such pride the character of law-breakers and rioters. The New Mar- ket, too, has gone into the hands of the rioters again, nnd ia regaini M3 the infamous name it had before David Grelan success! ually undertook its regeneration. Puitapeuenia, June 21, 1847. ‘The withdrawal of Mr. Kendall from being # candidate for the Presidency of the New York, Philadelphia and Washington telegraph company, has caused the direc- tora to look round forasuitable person to fill the va- cancy. Several candidates are spoken of, but the most prominent is George H. Hart, Esq. of this city, whose connection with the United States Gazette is to be ter- minated, by the merging of that journal into the North ‘American, The choice could not fall upon amore suita- ble person. The business of the telegraph company re- quires a prompt and energetic officer at its head; and such, without doubt, would Mr. Hart prove to be. The cases of ship fever at our Lazaaretto continue to increase, and the hospital there, has at least fifty cases init. Capt. Spencer, of the ship North Star, died on Sa turday morning of the dreadful malady, His vessel, and the emigrant passengers brought over in it, will, proba- bly, be detained at Quarantine a couple of ‘weeks. The President is to leave Baltimore on Wednesday morning, und after reaching Wilmington by a special train, will be conveyed from thence to the city in the steamer George Washington. The landing will take place at the Navy Yard, under a national salute of twen- ty-six guns. The military are to parade on the occasion, and escort the distinguished ‘guest to the residence of Vice President Dallas, where he will put up during his in the city. New Ontraxs, June 13—The news received from England, by the steamer Hibernia, has produced an un- usual excitement in our market, and occasioned considerable advance in Breadstuffs.” Flour has most sensibly affected, and the week's sales amout to about 50.000 bbls, the closing rates being $7 12% to $7 873 for Ohio and Illinois, and $7 75 to $8 per bbl for choice St. Louis brands—an advance of 50 to 2c. per Corp has gone up to 10e per bushel, the week's being 160,000 bushels, nnd the rates since the news 75 to 85¢ per bushel for prime whiteand yellow. An ad- vance in whent of 20c. ber bushel. Sales of the week 75.000 bushels, the closing prices being $1 65 to $1 70 per bushel for prime, and higher rates asked. Purtaoenrma, Jane 19.—The Flour market opened heavy, and without demand at $7 50, buyers evincing very little disposition to operate at present prices; 1000 bbls sold on shipboard at a low rate of freight, for $7 50; 2000 bbis western at $7 3734, and subsequently 1000 bbls at $7 25, closing with somo sellers at the latter price. Corn But little afloat; 1600 hushels Southern yellow sold at $1, weight. Dernorr, June 16.—The market remained inactive yesterday, although the views of both buyers and sellers were advancing a trifle. 250 bbls brought $7 13, at depot, and 100 at $6 88, which was below the market for straight brands. An offer of $7 25 was made and re- fased for 1000 bbis that was in market, two days since, at $7. Corn—Some 76 bushels came in at 400, a decline of 40 from last Kk. New York Cattle Market. Jone 21.—At Market 1400 Beef Cactle (greater part of Which was from the south,) 65 Cows and Calves, and ‘2470 Sheep and Lambs; 80 Beef Cattle left over. Prices range from $16, $28 to $42, All.at market soid readily at these prices.
