It will be seen from this statement what an immense amount of produce, even in theshort space of one week, seeks St. Louis as a market, or an outlet of some other. During this same time there have been 82 steamboat arrivals, and 75 departures, making an average of 21 arrivals and clearances per day. This great amount of steamboat business is not, perhaps, excelled by any city west of the mountains. ‘The quantity of certain agricultural products export- ed to foreign ports from Philadelphia, for the month of April and for the quarter ending May Ist, was as ane nexed :— Commence oF Pitehationnas hemmouropes ‘es ‘Mey. ‘Wheat Flour, bris 171,202 ‘Wheat, bushels, 971,730 R 6.053 7,000 Corn Meal, barrels, 146,195 Corn, bushels . ‘ Rye Hour, barrels. 6,181 Ship Broad, barrels. . The value of exports for March was $100,000 greater than in any previous month, and for April $50,000 greater than in March, by which it appears that the shipments for April were val- wed at $150,000 moro than those for any previous month.
