A most disgraceful exhibition took place this ' morning in the House of Representatives. Mr. Hud- son, of Massachusetts, rose to complain of an arti- cle in. the Union of yesterday, misrepresenting his remarks upon the conduct of the public printers, in not furnishing the documents at as early a period as was customery with the public printers. He said a day or two ago, that it was usual for them to turnish those documents to the members within a week after their election ; but thatnow more than a month had elapsed, and these valuable papers were not yet forthcoming The Union, in its comments upon this passage of his speech, varied it, and attributed the charge to political hostility, thereby charging the member from Massachusetts with falsehood. He was about pro- ceeding further in his remarks, when Mr. MeCon- nell repeatedly called him to order.
