[Correspondence of the Herald.] Puivaverenia, June 7, 1845, Our city and district was the scene of two deeds of violence yesterday and this morning, which breaks in with a shock upon our us@al quiet. About five o'clock yesterday afternoon, a colored barber named Southhard, having a wife and family, proceeded to_the house of a woman in St. Mary street, with whom he was on terms of unlawful intimacy, shot her in the abdomen, and im, mediately blew his brains out. He died jnstantly, but the woman still survives, and is expected to recover, The other deed of violence alluded to above, was a high- way robbery, committed about one o’clock this morning upon a butcher named Jesminger, in the vicinity of Third and Wharton streets, Southwark.
