Blank, of New ¥ era on Harden, ‘This table shows a gradual falling off in the value of these articles exported, and on reference to the fellowing table of prices, it will be seen thatthe dechne has been in prices instead of quantity, The exports have been large in bulk, but have depreciated in prices enormously. ‘The cotton crop of the past year was more than an average and the quantity exported large, but prices ruled very low for the greater part of the season. The tobacco crop was below an average, and still prices fell below those current in previous years. The grain crops last year were very large, but the shipments abroad were very limited, and at very reduced prices. Our foreign provision trade was larger than ever before, and this department of our export trade, was the only one show- ing anincrease. The shipments of domestic manufac- tures last year were very limited, and the goods sent abroad commanded very low prices. ‘ic of our export trade for 1843, and so far in 184, they are somewhat similar.
