The shares of the Western Railroad declined two per cent in consequence of the election of what is termed in that latitude the “Bliss Ticket.” Norwich and Worces- ter closed firm at 35}. Money continued very abundant, and manufacturing stocks,as usual,maintained fair prices, notwithstanding the depression in Railroad shares. The receipts of the Norwich and Worcester Railroad for the month of January 1943 and 1644, shows a favorable re- port, and if the increase is sustained, the company will ra. pidly recover from their difficulties.
