Rugh, who hails, we understand, from New York ¢ ty, and-who is old enough to know’ that it is wise to “shun bad company,” learned a trick in Cleveland on Tuesday night that is’ often successfully practised on green uns in New York, as show the police annals. The story goes, that Rugh, soon after his arrival, formed the acquaintance of two covies well known to Marshal Ab- bey, and who learned from Rugh theimportant fact to them that he hada very comfortable supply of the “tin” in his ion. Tuesday eve: f the two friends of the ot called on him at his hotel, treated him freely to the “creature comforts” of the bar, and induced him to take lodgings abroad for the night. One or both of the friends tarried at the same house; and during the night re- lieved the pockets of Rugh of the burden of some $350, and made themselves scarce. Both the male friends and also a female friend of Rugh, have since been arrested for the robbery, and a small portion of the money has been reco- vered.
