Provisions.—The demand for both Beef and Pork has been motterate, without change of price. Picked Hams 4} a bc; 16 bbls Beef Rounds in pickle sold at 5c. Rice.—Sales for the week 330 tierces fresh bei good at $2 60 a2 75 cash, and 150 tierces old. Flour continues to decline in this market. We hear of sales of Canal at $4 60 a4 624; Ohio at $156 462, and Richmond County $4 50 a4 62. ‘These prices are barely sustained. What wheat there is in market is held at 96 2 103 cents. Rye brings 58 cents, and Jersey Corn 59 cents. Sales of Wheat at Cleaveland were made on 6th inst- at 70cents, but the receipt of advices from Europe to 19th ult., unsettled the market. The advices show that the harvest is progressing very satisfactorily in England, and that the odadition of thenew wheat is so good t at the old wheats are likely to meet a material decline in price as we have before @ated The only sale of flour reported at Cleaveland was at $34. Itis beginning to be Spparent that the present low price of breadstuffs in our markets will havea very material ef- fect upon the production of grain next year. Alread: have many farmers ploughed up some of their wheat fields and we learn that ii is the intention of most farmers to sow oue fourth less grain the ensuing season. Cotton and Sugar Crops. The prospect for abundant crops of Cotton and Cane in the Attakapas section of Louisiana, is beyond all account excellent. Nothing is now dreaded, but a superfluity of rain, as in such case the cotton bolls will fall off, and the cane delay ripening. The manufscturing of sugar will commence early, most of the planters ing planted largely this year. Severalof them, we understand, in. se commence grinding in the latter part of this month.
