In disenaning the question of the tariff, the coal miners have made a groat clamor iu relation to reduction ef duty om fereiga coal, pretending thnt unless a high duty should be substituted for the compromise, their iutoreat would be injured, The committes of which Mr. Saltonstall in the head, hae therefore proposela much higher duty than before on foreign coal. The duty on foreign coal in ISI was $1.40 per ton, by the acte of 1814, '24, 32, $1.68 per ton. The committer now propose $1.40 per ton.
