P =4 PHILADELPHIA,July 24 We hear from Pittfbourg, that on the 7th Inftant four Compsnies of the Royal Americans marched tor Prefque. lfle, under the Command of Colonel Bouquet ; as did alfo Captain M'Neil’s Company, of the Virginia Regiment : That on the Wednefday following Col. Hugh Mercer was to march for the fame Place with three Companies of the Pennfylvania Regiment, viz. Captains Clapham’s, Biddle’s and Anderfon’s : And that two Days after, they were to be followed by two Companies more of the Pennfylvanians, commanded by the Captzins Atlee and Miles. The Deftination of thefe Troops was not known ; but from the Near- nefls of Prefque- Ifle to Detroit, it was hoped the Ene- my would not be long in Poflefion of that Place. By Captain Flower, from Providence, we are infor- med, that Captain Oliver, ina Privateer of that Port, fell 'in with a Freach One, of fapesior Force off the Bite of Leoganne ; when, after a fhoit Engagement, he was ‘boarded by thie French, who deltroyed all his Company, himlelf, Lieu:. and one Man, excepted.
