New-Hampfhire Containing the Frefbeft Advices, I & LONDON, Apil g, A T afale of houthold goods lately at Winlington, 3 zbout 5 Miles fromNewcaftle uponTyne,a woman bought 2 large old bureaufor 4s. and 6 d. efteemed no hetter than lumber ; after the fale, fhe with fome difficulty prevailed on a nailor to aflift her in removing fome papers and loofe gold, he told herof if, and made it taft epain, gor more help and took it away whole ; in getting it out, one of the papers fell, and the gold ) {:ngling, was taken notice of by one of the afliftants, - But the nailor faying it was only a bag with a few nails he had put out ot his Pocket, it pafled; after getting it hoiee, 204 digmiiang the siliftants, the purchaler and ber friend the nailor went to work,and took it in picces, and were paid for their trouble with feveral purfes and papers of gold to aconfiderable amount. She gave the nailor § papers untold, which appears by what he has fince done, in paying his debts, and purchafing a hou'e and fhop to work in, to amount to 2001, and upwards ; gnd is told by the woman to apply to her if he wants more. It is remarkable thet this old piece of furniture is in memory to have pafizd through feveral fales with- : in 40 years, that none of the gold is of a later coinage than James II. and that it was in an opulent family in that neighboarhood intheyear 1715. It is reperted that they have murdered all the negro children that the women carried with them, and are obliged to keep a clofe and corftant guard overthe women, who itis thought they will alio maflacre, whenever they are clofely purfued.
