- Enemy’s, temoving from Zittau to Gabel, and burning and deftroying 5000 Cafks of Flour, 10,000 Quintals of Oats, witn the Carriages, and a great number of Chefls of Small Arms. Soon after this, a Body of 4 or 5000 of the Auftrians under Generat De Wehla, afier a very brave Detence, were entirely routed, and Wehla him- felf taken Prifoner. In fhort, thefe Circumftances, to- gether with many others not lefs important, but too tedious to be infered in this Gazstte, obliged Marfhal Daun to retire from Gorlitz even beyond Bautzen, 35 Miles N. E. of Drefden, when Prince Henry pof- feffed himfelf of the Camp near Gorlivz, whilit Mejor General Krockow found Means to fall upon the Rear Guard of the Auftrians, on their March towards Baut- zen, to make a confiderable Number of Prifoners, and to carry off or deftroy 300 Waggons, loaded with Baggage and Provifions. Upon the whole, as Prince Henry, by his quick Marches, broughs both Armies within halfa German Mile of each other, and opened a Communi- cation with the King his Brother, an Ation was ex- ‘peted every Hour. As to the Affuirs of the King of Pruffia, they feem to be in a very good Way, both with Regard to the Court of Peterfburgh, and hisimmediate Operations : For asto the firfi, the Conferences began at that Court by the Englifh Mirifter. to reftore a good Undeiftanding be- tween his Profiian Majelty and the Emprets of Ruffia, are in a good Train, the Chancellor being the only Perfon who ftands out for France and the Court of Vi- enna, all the other Officers favouring the Ceurt of Ber- lin. And, with regard to the Jzcond, his Msjetty, with his little Tribs, has not only obliged the Ruflian Army to repafs the River Oder, on their way back to the Fron- tiers of Poland, but followed them fo clofe, as that they had only one Hour’s ftart of him ‘acrofs the River, mak- inga few Prifonerson his Way. He, indeed, croffed the River afier them, and finding they had no Defizn upon Glogau he pitched his Quarters at Koben, on the Oder, at the fame time keeping open the communicati- on with his Brother Prince Henry. This is the laft Account we have of the King ; but donot learn that Drelden is yet retaken, if it was, the King of Poland fays, he would accept of the Propofals of Peace which the King of Pruffix has offered him. But pernaps fuch loofe obfervations may not be altogether ufelels, where bettér have not been made.
