Wednefday laft the Greatand General Court or Aflcmbly of this Province met here ; when his' Excellency was pleas’d to make the following SPEECH to both Houfes ; 4 Gentlemen of the Council, and Houfe of Reprefentatives, * Call you together at this Seafon, that - having clofed the Bufinefs of the Year, laft'paft; and all Matters relating to the general Service thereof—you may con- fider your Circumftances, with a View to that which is approaching.—For as you cannot entertain an Idea of leaving incompleat the Work of this War already fo greatly and glorioufly advanced, or of refigning the good Effets and goed Hopes which the many Conquefts made by his Majefty’s Arms lead to ; you mufl expeét to be called upon for your Aid of Troops in the fame Manner as you have been hitherto :—Having therefore taken into Confideration, the Circumitances of thofe Troops belonging to, and in the Pay of this Province, which are doing Duty at Louifbourg, Halifax and Lunénbourgh, and do entirely garrifon Annapolis, Fort Cum- berland at Chegne&o, and Fort Frederick at St. John’s—you will confider of making the carlieft Provifion for thofe which-may be fur- -ther wanted for the Qperations of the enfuing Campaign fo that they may be ready at the firft Call. ] ' Gentlemen of the Houfe of Reprefentatives, - By the Stare of the Treafury which the Treafurer will lay before you, you will fee that the Treafury is already fupplied to carry us to May next, upon the piefest Appro- priations, if you make fomeTransfers.— And there is unappropriated in the Treafury the Sum-of £. 20,688 17s. 6d. The deputaion fent from this town, to reprecent to the King of Pruffiz that his new demand of 300,000 crowns exceeded their sbilities, and was contrary to his royal premife laft year to make no more demand on them, could not obtain the fmalleft abatement. ¢ Berlin, O&. z. Nantz, Sept. 24. ‘The divifion of the King’s fl:et deftined to invade England will be commanded by the Duked’A guillon,and will have on beard 17 regimentr, with 20 brafs cannon, v'z. four z4 pounders, four 16 pounders, four 12 poundere, and cight two pounders, the {ame number of mortars, and 48 {mall field pieces of cannom for the fervice of the troops. On board of this fleet will be embarksd 10.coo uniforms, 46,000 pair of fhoes, (perbaps woeden) 10,000 pair of piftols, 4¢0 harpefits tor arullery hories, an 1500 bariels of powder. Motwithitanding the interrretation given by the court of France to Marfhal Belleifl:’s letter, they write from Lip{tadt, thatthe countrics in Weftphalia that have been taken from the King of Pruflizare fuddenly overwhel- med with diftrefs by an ordonance juit publithed, which refers to an order of Marfhal Belleifl: of the 10:h of September. It erjoinsall the woods belonging to his Pruffian Mejefty to be cut down : this deprives the people of all afliftance either for building or fi ewood, coppice, as wellas grown timber, being included in this devaftation.
