On Sunday morning Admiral Rodaey, with the fleet under his command, arrived at Spithead from Havre de Grace. We hear that he has reduced the greateft part of the town of Havre de Grace ‘to afhes, and defiroyed moft of the flat bottom’d boats, except thofe that were drapged out of the reach of the bombs ; that he has burnt a large magazine of wood, and done other confiderable damage ; and that ddring ; the bombardment they expended 1goo fhells and 1150 carcafles. His fhips are very much fhattered, having received a continual fire from the batteries and forts, but happily he loft very few of his men. { .- New-Hampfhire 't Containing the Frefbeff Advices ” The Duke'and Montaghc inen of war are fai'ed from Plymouth to join Sir Edward Hawke in the Bay. Capt. Poliard, of the T'wo Sifters, arrived yeilerday fe’'nnight at Liverpcel from Harflenr, where helanded his cargo of tobacco, defigned for Havre de Grace, the Fiench court not permitting any Englifh veffel to go into that port. When he left Harfleur, the pilot bro't him ciofe in with Havre, where he could fee from the maft-head two men of war on the ftocks, and between 130 and 140 flat bottomed boats yncovered,which muft require a long time before they could be compleated. He was nine days on his paflage, asd left an Englifh .60 gun fhip, two frigates, 21d two cutters, cruifing off the harbour of Havre, ; Admiral Rodney is certainly going out again on the French Coaft as foon as poffible, and with him the chief Fngineer of the Train of Attillery, and an additional number of Bombs. A private Letter by the Flanders Mail fdys, that the advanced Guard of Dohna’s Army has had an Engage- men with a large Party of the Ruflians near Pofaa, and that the latter were entirely defeated. We hear the Forces and the Militia are fo ftationed in the Counties contignous to the Sea, that upwards of 50,000 can be got together in a few Days. Portfmouth, July 11. Admiral Rodney bro'tin with him two Dutch fhips, taken off Havre, laden with oar, wainfcut boards, and lead. all which were defigned for theufe of the flat bottom’d boats in the port of Havre- de Grace. When the Admiral came from Havre, he left Capt. Willet, in the Chichefter, as Commudore, with 4 fail befides, and two cutters ; one of which ar- rived yeflerday from Capt. Willet, with an account of their having taken 3 fhips more, laden with the fame commodities. Fuly 13. An Officer that was out upon the late Expedition to the French Coaft, writes thus to his Bro- ther, ¢ It is impoffible for us to tell what Damage was dcne at Havre de Grace, every Thing foon after the Bombardment began being obfcured from: our Sight by Fiames and Smoke ; certain we are, 1t muft be very great, as they were in Flames for more than 48 Hours, in one Part or cther.” Gofport, July 11, The Bombs are ordered toget new Mortars, and to be repatred with the utmolt Ex- pedition.
