Wheelerina fhip from Gib- raltar touched here in his way to Jamaica, and by t:m we learn, That Admiral Broderick having Inteili- gence that a great number of tranfports, were failed trom Toulon with 5000 troops for exchanging the French garrifons on the Ifland of Corfica, he immediate- 1y failed op the Mediterranean with the fquadron under his commaed ; and in a few days after was followed by Admiral Bofcawen with the fquadron commanded by liim ; and that the two fquadrons, when anited, would make up 15 thipsof the line, befides frigates, &c. which ( fhould they not be fortanate enough to intercept the enemy’s troops ) it was expefted would, at lealt be able ta deftroy all their fhips. June 16. Yefterday arrived here a large Dutch Sugar loaded Sloop of 12 Guns, taken on her Paflage from Martineco for St. Eullatia, by his Majefty’s Ship Griffin, Capt. Teyler ; who was left in purfuit of 2 o- thers that were in Company with this, and which ’twas believed the thould come up with. We hear Capt, Taylor has confinred this Sloop’s Company for firing into his Mzjefty’s Ship.—Thefe Veflels are {uppofed to be part of feven, which failed from Martineco juft before the Hawke Flag of Truce. A Privateer from Leeward the iy before Veftorday fpoke with a Sugar loaded Ship from Martincco, which had been taken by two Privateers from New Vork, and another belonging to St. Kitts, to- which Place the Prize was going. Capt. Higgins of the Brig Hawke, a Flag of Truce from Martineco, arrived here this Morning with about 40 Mafters of Veflels.; by whom we have a confirma- tion of thofe Accounts, which with uacommon relu&t- ance, we have before been obliged to mention, viz. ‘That Eaglith Prizes have been, and ftill are, daily carried into Martineco. PRHILADELPHATA, Juy 13. At a Court of Admiralty held here lat Week, the foar Prizes lately brought in by the Britannia Priva- teer, Capt. M’Pherf{on, were all condemned. We hear from Aatigua, that Mr. Clapman, Survey- or General of Lands in that Iiland, is now making an a%tual Survey of Guadaloupe, Grand Terre, and the Lands adjacent ; and that, from his Survey a Map will be ingraved and publithed with all convenient -peed. They came from Scot- land, bat lalt from Virginia, where they arrived fome Time fince. Friday laft, Capt. Carman pafled by here in his Way to Amboy, in 40 Days from_Madeira, who in- forms vs, that a Ship had arrived there from London, the Day before fhe came away, and brought a certain Account of three French Eaft Indiamen being taken in the Englifh Channel. We hear that Capt. Dwight, in the Privateer Brig Charming Sally, of this Port, bas taken 3 or 4 Prizes and {ent them into St. Chriftophers. Yelterday arrived here the Rye Man of War from St. Kitts, and brought under Convoy, ¢ Tranfports and an Hofpital Ship, having the 2d Battalion of the Royal Highlanders, with abgat6 or 700 Draughts on board. They left Guadaloupe the zoth of June, with General Barrington, who had with fiim Elliot’s, Bar- rington’s and Armiger’s Regiments, boand home to En- gland and arrived at St. Kitts the next Day, where they remained till the 23d in the Evening, when they fet fail, and parted Company the firlt of Jaly, General Rarrington and his Tranfports being convoyed by the Roebuck and Bonnetta Men of War. The Soidiers ar- rived here are to follow the Grand Army above. By the Rye we learn, that Monf. Bompart, with his Fleet, had left Martineco, and gone to the Granada Iilands, there to load with Sugars, and to return dire&t- Iy to France: . Tuefday laft Capt. Bailey arrived herein 7. Weeks from Madeira, he brings no Account of Adm. Bofcaw- en’s having taken 4 French Men of War and deftroy- ing 200 Sail of Tranfports off Rochelle, as mentioned in our laft ; but fays, that Admiral Cornifh in the Lenox of 70 Guns, with the York, Falmouth, and Duke de Acguitane, failed for the Eaft Indies about the 12th of May laft. Col. “a Hoar, Commanding Officer ar Annapolis Royal, dated oth July, 1759. ‘¢ The 3oth of Juae in the Night, a Party of French and Indiacs, as has been the PraQice for feveral Years pafl, came and drove off Twelve Bullocks belonging to this Place ; I had Intelligence of it about 10 o’Clack in the Morning, immediately fent off 60 Men in Pur- fuit of them, who came up with them sbout 20 Miles Diftance, exchang'd a few Rounds, then made off ; and oar Men being much fatigued, and not the lcaft Re- frefhment with them, returned heme, one Mzan wound- ed, tho’ not dangerous.—Upon that Party® reieny another Party held themfelves in Readinefs,and march’d” off at 10 0'Clock in the Evening ; it being very flormy, I concluded they would lye by, which they did, not expeling another Vifit from us fo foon : Our Party came up with them about 3 o’Clock the next Day,and as two Thirds of their Firelocks would nof go off by Reafon of their being wet, they fired what cosld, and then ruthed immediately on with theirFirelocks clubb'd, and the Enemy ran off bke lufty Fellows, leavirgall | their Bullocks, five Brafs Kettles, with their Provifion in them, feveral Blankets, Tomhawks, Buck Shot, &c. all which the Party bro't in ; and by feveral Bandages and Rags which the Party found very bloody, together with a Hat they found fhot thro’ the Crown, fome of AN the Enemy, from thofe Circumftances, I thik, moft be killed and wounded. We hear from Andover, that on Wednelday laft the Houfe of Mr. Jonathan Holt was firuck by Lightning and corfiderably fhatter’d ; four Children being in a Room, two of them were firuck down, but thro’ divine Goodnefs they recover'd in a few Hours alter. Haverland of the Innifkilling* Regiment, to Garrifon that Place ; and that they were to be joined at a certain Point in Lake Ontario, by 300 Indians more :—That in a few Hours after the Briga- dier had march’d, a Swifs, a Deferter fiom the Fiench, came to Col.
