General Wole with 4000 Troops, and 400 Marines, land- ed on the North Shore under Cover of Ad- miral Holmes'ia the Dublin Man of War,and two Bomb Ships, and aftera warm Reception took Pofleflion of the Ground, and eretted a Batrery upon Livee, a Point of Land, 2bout 5 Miles diftant from the WaLrs or QuEBEC, and during theTime of compleating the Bat- tery, Admiral Holmes and the Bomb Ships kept conftantly difcharging their Cannon,and throwing Shelis into the French Camps, and many of thefe Shells were feen to fall within their Lines. . We hear his Honour the Admiral has appomted the failing of the next Fleet under Convoy ofhxaMajelty s Ship Affiftance of 50 Gune, David Edwards Eiq, Commander, and Lively of 20 'Guns, Francis Wyait,Efg; Commander, for Great Britain ; to fail frem Port Royal the 2cth of July next, and from Bluefields the 24th of July. Monday arrived a Dutch Prize Schooner taken by the Drake Privateer of this Port laden with Sugar, &c. Tbe fame Day amved the Alexander, Akin; from ondos, but laft om 81, I, where flae took in upwards 300 Slaves, which were fent there from Guadaioupe, and has bro’t them here for Sale. Fune 21. On Thurlday laft the Bagnall Frigate, Capt. Murray was taken off the N. IE. End, by the Greyhound Schooner Pri- vateer, mounting 8 Carriagé Guns and 8o Men, after an Encagement of 2 Hours, in vihich the Frigate had one Maa killed and two mortally wounded the Privateer gave them the Boat to fet themfelves on Shore. 7zme 23. We learn by a fmall boat arrived at Port-Royal laft Monday, that no lefs than feven fail of French privateers failed out of the Bite of Leoganne, on the 7th and 8th inftant, viz. three fnows, one brigantine, and three {mall floops ; Monf. Palanqui is re- ported to be the commandant of this fqua- dron, which are all to a& in concert. They gave chace to capt. Horton, in the privateer l\r"7 the Johnfon, belonging to New York, whe failed from this port a few days ago, and was very near taking bim, but he belmr a little to windward of them, got clear off.
