We hear that Orders are given to the feveral Regi- raents deflined to go on a fecret Expedition, to be in Readinefs to embark the 14th of next Month. Moft of the Publick News Papers having mentic- ned very fupe; ficially the Convention figned at Lon- dou the yth of December laft, between the King of Great Britain and the King of Pruflia, we hope the Articles of it will not be unacceptableto the Publick. They are as foliow.: Article 1. All former Treaties concluded between the two Courts, and particularly that of the 16th of January 1756, and the Convention of the 11thof April 1758, are fully and literally confirmed by the prelent Convention. 2. The King of Great Britain fhall pay at Lon- don, into ‘Fiands of Perfons authorifed by the King of Pruffia for that Purpofe, the Sum of 4,000,0c0 of Crowns, amcunting to 670,000 1. Sterling, which, at the Requeft of his Prufiian Majefty, fhall be paid at one fingle Payment, immediately after the Ex- change of the Ratificaticns. | 4. His Pruflian Majefty engages to employ the faid Sum in recruiting and augmenting his A rmies, which fhall a& in fuch a Manner, as fhall be judged moft conducive to the Intereft of the Common Caufe. 4. The Kipg of Great Britain, bothas King, and as Ele&or, andsn's Pruffian Majefty, reciprocally en- gage themfelves by the prefent Cenventicn, not to make any Treaty of Peace, Suipenfion of Arms, or any other Agreement with any other Powers at War, without the mutual Confent of both Parties, nor without their being both exprefly comprehernded in fuch Treaty. 5. The Ratification of this prefent Convention fhall be exchanged within the Term of fix Wecks, or fooner if it can be done, &c. By a Letter from Lifbon we are informed, that Numbers of Jefuits have withdrawn themfelves from the Kingdom of Portugal fince the late Execation there, and that fo precipitately, as to leave behind them their valuable Effeéts. The faid Letter writer affirms, that there are up- wards of 32 Perfons of that Order underConfinement, for the late Aflaffination Plot, which had ftruck fo great a Panic thro’ their whole Body, thata Law for the Banifhment of them would foon become un- neceflary. We hear that the Forfeitures to the Crown on Ac. count of the late Confpiracy in Portugal, amount to one Third of the Eftates of the whole Kingdom. She is called the Marquis de Marigny, belonging to Granville, mounts zo fix Pounders, and had 194 Men on board, and was commanded by M. Le Croufe. Captain Parker alfo took on the 15th Inftant, a Cutter Privateer of Dunkirk, called Le Hardi Men- diant, commanrded by Jean Meuleuaer, of 8 fix Pounders, and 60 Men. Yefterday arrived at Spithead, from Goree, but laft from Senegal,his Majefty’s Ship Naffau, Captain Sayer ; fhe was five Weeks on her Paffage ; fhe left his Majefty’s Ships Torbay, Dun- - kirk, Fogeux, Prince Edward, &c. off the Weltern Iflands, bound to England. She has brought home fome Chefts of Dollars, Chefts of Gold Duft, and Bags of Money.
