The defign is to draw the French from the entrenchments in the front of our army, #ad to cut off all communication between Grandterre and Doudanne. e —— Feb. 17. A Gentleman of Credit in St. Chriftopher’s, writes the following agreeable news to his friend in An- tigua, viz. That the matter of a veflzl jult arrived there from Europe fays, that he faw Admiral Saunders car- rying in ten fail of French men'ef war and a number of tranfports. The Litchficid of 50 Guns, a bomb tender and a tranfport were loft on the coalt of Barbary in the voyage fiom England —Goree is a place of very great importarce o the French.
