Spring, of this Port, on ber Paffage home from Port-au Princé. The Spry had likewife taken two other Brigs from the fame FPlace, bound to Rhode-[fland, and ordered them here, but they are not yet come up. She had alfo taken two French Schooners, one with fome Rum on board, and the other laden with Dry Goods ; and had retaken Capt. . Ogilvie, in a Snow from New York for St. Chriito- phers, and fent her to Providence. A Gentleman, who left Ray’s-Town on Thurl- day, the 19th ult. informs us, that it was thought General Forbes would leave that Place for Loyal- hanning the Sunday following ; and that a great Number of Waggons had come in with Provifions ; but can give no further Account of the Adtion at Loyalhanaing, the Officer not being returned, that the General had fent @p to bring the Pariicdlars of that Affair. ‘ N.E W .Y O R K, November 6. She was taken off the Cape, the 1g9th of September laft, by the Royal Hefter Privatcer, of this Port.—She farmerly belonged to the Englith, and was a priva- teer called the Naney, out of Guernfey, mounting 18 Nine Pounders, and proved very faccefsful out of that Place, having taken, as is {aid, near one huh- dred French Vedlels, before fhe was taken by the French, two of whofe Frigates carried her into Mor- laix, from thence fhe was fent to Canada, and now had bat two Gunds mounted. Four Englith Prifoners were taken on Board her, defigned to be exchanged at St. Domingo. Alfo the Prize Ships Jafon and Rifing-Sun, as mentioned in our laft, came into Port; and the re- taken Sloop, that was bound from South-Carolina for Barbados, and was a Prize to the Jafon. Capt. Wentworth, in a Schooner from Virginia, was caft away at Barnagat, on Tuefday the 24th ult. the S. E. John Haley, who informs us, T'hat the French 74 Gun Ship mentioned in our lalt, gotinto Port a- Peaux, in a fhattered Condition, having loft about 120 Men, engaging two Englifh Men of War; but got clear, by out-failing them ; and that 2 Fleet of about 30 Sail was foon to path out of the Cape, un- der Convoy ef two Frigates and'a Snow of War. .
