Juffan,with a Letter of Marque, burthen about'320 “Tons, 50 Men, and 8 Guns ; her Lading confifts of Flour, Wine, Brandy, a » great Quantity of Bale Goods, &c.—fhe was from Bourdezux, which fhe left the 2d of May, in Com- Pany with 14 others, bound to Quebeck ; but on Rhe 22d of June was taken by the fuccefsful Cdpt. Berjamin Hallowell, of the Province Ship of War King George, in her prefent Cruize, while proteét- ing the Fifhery at Bank Vert: This Veflel parted with two others the Day before fhe was taken, who informed Capt.' Hallowell of them ; which ’tis hop- ‘ed he may meet with, and bring them likewife into Port in’his Return_from the Prelent Cruize,which 15 daily expefled.——We hear that Capt, Hallowell was offered 16,000 £. Extrait of & Letter from a Gentleman in Albany, te bis Friena in Bofton, dated Fuly 7tb. 1758. — WE have the following Intelligence from the Lake, That on the 4th Inftant, Orders came out for the whele Army to Embark next Morning by Sun-rife ;— A- gieable to which, they were all in Motion at the appointed Time, had their Tents ftrack, made up and put on board with themfelves, all in about one Quarter of an Hour, in the greateft Order, and without any Confufion,—— They formed them- felves into three Grand Divifions, compos'd of the follswing Reégiments:—As an ad. vanced Guard went three buwidred VY bake- Boats, nine Men in-each, commantled by Col. Gage on the Right, and by M.jor Ro- gers onthe Left— The Vao was ot Battoes 22 Men in each.— The Right was the egiments of Babcock, Fitch, Worfier, and Fobnfon—The Lete Wolfey (of New Jerfey) Prible, Glazier, and . Williams— The third Divifion on th= Right, Doty and Rug- gles—On the Leit Bagley, and others which 1 am rot certain of— The Center was the Firit and Fourgh Batralions of Royal Ame- ricans, commanded by Lord HOWE, the Highlanders with the reft of the Regulae —in the Rear— the Artillery and Stores with the General broughc up by Lieut. Col. Partridge— In this Order they pro- cceded down the Lake, by Ten o’Clock they had got 15 Miles down 3 and theis Orders were to land at the advanced Guard that Evening, fo that before this Time there is warm Work. They carried five Days Provifion ready dreft with them be- fides other Provifion. General Fobnjon was at Fort Edward Yefterday, with about three bundred Indians, and is to proceed immediately after the Army. Some Time ago a Flag of Truce came in from the Enemy to demand Col. Schuyler and others, who had not returned agreable to their Parole— The General thought fic to de.ain them, which caufed a fecond to arrive to know the Reafon of that’s Stay but thofe he faid fhould go down with him with a Guard of twenty thoufand Men, be- caufe they demanded an Efcort of 150 Men ; and he has been as geod as his Word, for he has placed them in the Cen- ter with their Flag of Truce flying—= They denominated themfelves Sergeants or Cor- porals, but it has been found out that fome of them are Engineers, Colonels, and none les than a Captain among them.— The Army cover’d the Lake trom Side to Side, which is one Mile and half over at the 0p: er End, and 1n narrow Places- they were obliged to form into Sub-divifions to give themfelves Room.— T hey extended from Front to Rear full feven .
