After the late Vitory, the Pruflians found in one of the Enemy’s Magazines, a great Number of Crofles of the Order of St. Lewis ; which the Prince de Soubife, by a fpecial Mefage to the King of Pruffia, defired might be returned ; bat his Pruflian Majefty fent for Anfwer, That as the French King had defigned thofe marks-of Diftinction for the Troops who beft deferved them, he thought none had o good a Right to them as his own. We learn from Hanover, that the State of Lunenbourg have ‘made the following Regulations for raifing the exorbitant Sum which the French demand over and above the Grain and Forage which have already been delivered to them. 1. All Placemen, of what Station or Condition {oever, fhall pay Eight per Cent of their Sala- vies, at four different Terms. 2. All who receive Penfions out of the public Money fhall pay Four per Cent. 3. The Nobility and Land Owners fhall pay zoo Crowns (3{. 6d. Sterling each) for each horfe they keep. 4. Each Farmer fhall pay Four per Cent. 5. For every Coach drawn by Horfes fhall be paid four Crowns ; for each Sedan Chair two Crowns ; and for each Livery Servant one Crown. 6. Foreach Chimney fhall be paid 16 Mariengros, (a Mareingro is equal to 1). 1f. 6d. With Regard to Tradfemen, each Mafter fhail pay one Crown for himfelf, and 16 Mareingrostor each Journey- man. - With Refpeét to Shopkeepers and feliors of Wine, &c. they fhall pay one per Cent of alithe Money they took from Michael- mas 1756, to Michaelmas 1757, or 20 Crowns once for all, at their Option. 8. York, which we are informed has brought the following account : ¢ The 22d of Jat Month theAuftrians attacked the King of Pruffia’s “ troops under the command of the Prince of Bevern near Breflau, ¢ and, after an altion of four hours, the Auftrians gave way ; and « were purfued that and the next Day four German (or 26 of our miles.’ ' The particulars of this battle, as far as we can yet learn, are, that the corps under General Nadafty, that was employed in the fiege of Schweidnitz, having joined Prince Charles of Lorrain in the neigh- bourhood of Breflau, his Royal Highnefs and Marfhal Daun refolved to attack the Prince of Bevern,who was ftrongly intrenched and ad- vantageouly pofted under the cannon of that city ; and accordingly the attack began the 22d of November at 7 in the morning, and lafled about four hours, when vitory declared in favour of the Pruffi. ans, who then fallied out from their intrenchments, and purfued the Aufltrians, who fled two or three difterent ways. Marfhal Daun’s army was computed to be about 60,000 ftrong after the junction of the troops under General Nadafty ; and the forces under the Prince of Bevern did not exceed 25,000 Men. We hear farther, that the King of Pruffia was, on the z4th ult. but five marches from Schweidnitz. The Auftrians are gone off in three columns, one of which muft inevitably fall into the hands of the King of Pruffia. Some accounts advife,that the King of Pruffia, in his way to Silefia, has met with a body of Auftrians undér General Marihall, defeated them, and made fome hundreds of them prifoners. y The Hanoverians are fuperior in number to Marfhal Richlieu, who is retiring from them in a panick. It is faid that the French Ealt India Company have entirely ftop- ped payment, Orders are given for raifing recruits with all expedition both for land and fea, and prefs-warrants are iffued out for that purpole. Yefterday the bill for preventing the exportation of corn, and to prevent the diftilling grain for twelve months, &c. was pafled in the Houfe of Peers by a commiffion. Extraft of a Letter from Berlin, December 8. < At three o’clock this morning a-courier arrived from the King awith the important newws of a compleat wiftory which the King gained the §th inflant between Ncumark and Lifla, over the Aufirian Army, confifling of 80,000 men, that,of bis Majefly confifting only of 40,000. ““ The attack began at one in the aftcrnoon, and the engagement lafled Sfour hours, avhen the enemy’s army was Jeparated and routed, fo that one wing retreated by Lifja, towards Briflau, and the other toavaras Kaunitz, taking the rout of Schawcidnitx. At the drparture of the cou- rier we bad taken from the enimy 40 pieces of cannon, befides a great number of colours and flandards.
