Mis’ Royal Highnefs tho’t this Alteration neceflagy, ¥n order to fraftrate the Defigns of the Enemy ; who, not Judging it properto attack upon this fide of the Brackwede, #@fter having recontioitred the Sitnation of curCamp Teve- #al Days, made 3 Motion on their Left, as if they meant 20 go between us and the Wefer. It is impoffible to tell whether Marfhal @ Eftrees will attack us or not : The Wovernents his Army makes {o near us, induces us to ink 5e will attack ; and the Want of Subfiftence muft @it lait oblge him.to retreat or fight. However, we arc prepared to receive him, and the heavy Baggage baving Pleen {ent away, we have now nothing left to incumber w8 in Aétion. We very well gknow that the Enemy’s JArmy is {uperior to us in Number ; but we dare flatter ,ourfelves that we fhall convince them,. if they attack us, hat the Valour of our Troops, the Juftice of our Caufe, And the Defence of our Country, will in a good Meafure, ymake Amends for our Want of Numbers. Hague i KGazerte. From the French Camp at BREDA, (a flrong City of the ZLow Countries) Fune 14. Yefterday Marfhal d’Eftrees, ang the Prince de Soubize, ‘after having reconnoitred the uke of Cumberland’s Army, refolv’d to attack its Left Plank as foon as pofiible, and fixed upon the 18th Inftant for the Exccation of ‘that Defign ; but the Duke of Cum- berland -perceiving that they were preparing to attack him, decamped Yefterday Afterncon. As foon as we were apprifed of the Enemy’s Departare, Marfhal d* Ef- trees fent a confiderable Detachment, under the Com- mand of the Prince de Beaufeau, who marched all Night, and at Day break attacked the Poft which the Enemy bad left at Bielfield to cover their Retreat. The Count . de Chabot, who commanded this Attack, behav’d ex- ' gremely well, and forced the Enemy to give Way, and they abandon’d feveral Baggage Waggons, and had feve- zal of their Men made Prifoners. _ The Prince ce Beau- v {eau did not come up ’till the ‘Adlion was almoft over ; bot he writes from Bielefield that he is advancing upon the Enemy half way towards Herworden, which is the Ronte they bave taken. » “MunstER, (in Germany) Fune 14. The Frenth have come to Blows with the Hanoverians, and the latter have n obliged to retire in Diforder beyond the Wefer. We have not yetan exal Account of this Affair. What ollows is colle@ted from fome Letters dated from the Neighbourhood of the Field of Battle. .« The 13th in:the Evening, Col. Fifcher with his Cogps, and fome Detachments of Grenadiers attacked Bieleficld. At ‘the Begioning he found but little Refift- ence ; but the Pruflians of the left Wing of the Duke of Cumberland’s Army, threw a Reinforcement into it, who made a brave Defence. At break of Day that left Wing, gonfilting of Pruffians, -Heflians, and Brunfwikers, was izcked, defeated, and driven out of Biclefield, after a ¥ vigorous Refiftance. - The Right Wing, confifting of Ha- moverians, run away jaft at thefame Time. Immediately after the A&ion, the French feized upon Bielefield, and went to pitch their Tents on the Spot from whence they bad driven the Ailies. As yet we cannot write any Thing certain about the Lofs on both Sides : We only know, that the French took ten Pieces of Cannon, and fome Ammunitior Waggouns ; and it is faid they bave not loft any Officer of Noi-.; But on the Side of the Vanquifhed, we reckon among the Dead, divers Officers of Rank, particalarly the Generals Einfiedel and Junckheim.” < 'On the 15th, the French made themfelves Mafters of ‘Herford, and plundered that Town, becaufe the Inhabi. " tants had been fo imprudent as to take up Arms in De- fence of fome Troops of the confederate Army that had thrown themfelves into it. It is reckoned that they will . enter the Town of Minder this Day. Thus they are on i the Banks' of the Wefer, within 4 or.5 Days March of the Capital of the Ele€lorate of Hanover.———Am/lerdam - Gazette. Our Corps, under the Command of Marjbal Keith, the Prince of Pruffia, Prince Fevdinand, the Prince of Anbalt DefJau, and the bereditary Prince of Heffe Da)mfant, invefis avbat is called the little part of Prague, fituate on this Side the Moldau. Our Right Wing extends to St. Lawrence Hill, awhichin fome Mealure commands the White Hill, Our Left Wing= faces the large Plain, which runs along the Moldau towards Ratfchin. The Enemy occupy firong Ram- parts in this Plain oppofite to Belvedere and the Park. Some of their Regiments of Foot are encamped inTents upon the principal Rampart. The Army commanded by the King in Perfon, on the other Jfide of the Moldau, wery clofely invefis the reft of Prague. If ave wwould take by Attack this Place avhich is defended by a awhole Army, we muft lofe a multitude of brave Men whom the King loves, and avhofe Lives be defires ta fpare. A for- mal Siege, or the reducing it by Famine, would be too tedious. To force it to a /fpeedy Surrender there remains only Bombard.- ment, which as we advance becomes more and more terrible. We bawe ereited four Batteries of Mortars which threw in 288 Bymbs every 24 Hours. The oppofite fide of the Town is beated with red hot Bullets. "We learn from the Defer- ters, who make their Efcape to us in Crowds, that the Gar- vifon is in Want of Butcher's Meat and Forage, andill pro- wided swith Cannon and Stores. We bawve burnt Strockbof and all theGar- dens and Country Houfes in the Neighbourbood of the Town. Our Circumflance: of the Battle on the 6th, which regards Prince Henry, awe cannot omit. After this, the attacking the Auftrian Camp, fortified by Nature and Art, appeared more pradiicable. . As to the reft, we ought not to rob the Enemy’s Cawalry of the due praife they merited. - Their Infantry be- ‘bawved well. Their Haffars only bawve degenerated ; they can no langer fiand before us. StockHOLM, (a wery large, rich, and populous City, the Metropolis of all Sweden, Jub to the K. of Sweden) May z4. Since we received the News of the Engagement before Prague, it’s affured that the Senate has refolved-to make up the Contingent which His Majefty is to furnith to the Empire 16,000 Men ; of which 12,000 are to be Foot, and 4000 Horfe. DusseLoore, (@ firong City of Germany) Fune 7. The 31th of laft Month, the French made as if they.in- tended to bombard the Town and Caftle of Rittberg, and #n order todifguife their Defign the better, threw io a few Bombs, which fo much alarmed the Hanoverians, that they removed what Provifions and Forage they had to the Camp, and left the Place. It's thought they are mar- ched towards Bielfield, and at this Inftant 'we hear a Fi- 'ring, which we imagine is the "French faluting them at Departare.
