Monday laft Capt. M'Known arrived here in ten Days from Halifax, and by Letters which came in him we have Advice, That Capt. Roufe with the two zo Gun Ships which he went out on a Cruize with, and to look into Louifbourg Harbour, had return’d, and brought in with them a fchodner, with five Frenchmen ; who fay, there are but five fail of the Line at Cape-Breton ; the other Men of War had gone uvp (the River St. Lawrence.— Our Troops were ordered to embark lat Week.— We alfo learn, that Major Rogers had brought into Halifax, two Soldiers who had deferted, one of which he took near Cape Breton ; both of them were hang’d on the zoth of July among the Camps, Friday 7-night in the Afternoon arriv'd at Newport, Rhode Ifland, a large Sloop taken by the Defiance Pri- vateer, Capt. Fones, of that Port : She was bound from €ape Francois, it is faid, to old France ; her Cargo con- fifts of Sugars, Indigo, &c. e e Capt. Morton arrived here Yefterday from Philadel- phia, and reports, that two or three French Privateers are cruifing on that Coaft ; and that one of them tooka Ship, Capt. Rankin, who came down the River with him, “and was in Sight. From St. Kitts, ( via New York ) we hear, That the King ot Pruflia hasa€ually taken Prague Sword in Hand, with the Lofs of three Generals, and 6000 Men ; .and he made 10,000 Prifoners : This Account was bro’t by the Weft India Packet, and correfponds with the London Ga- zette of the zoth of May, _The Mafter of a Vefiel arriv’d at Sa/em from St. Eu- flatia, adviles that a Veflel from Holland arriv'd there in a fhort Paffage, and brought 2 Datch -Gazette, wherein was the Particulars of the Battle fought near Prague by the King of Pruffia’s Ariy and the Aufirians ; and that the Number kill’d .on both fides was very great, it is faid 18,000 of the Auftrians, and 12,000 Pruffians ; but none of the Particulars are yet come to Hand. The Right Honourable George Lord Vifcount Howe arrivid here in the Nightingale, Capt, Campbell, who came up to Téwn on Tuelday Evening, and on Wednef- day fet out for the Forts at Lake George. Laft Evening an Exprefs arrived here from Albary, avhich Place be left lalt Thuryday, avho awe bear brings an Account that a large Body of French and Indians attacked WFort William - Henry the preceeding Day, about Sun-rife ; the Number of the Enermy is uncertain ; and as we have no Az- thority for it, we cannot give the Particulars *till further Advice be réceiv’d. Said Negro was born and brought up among the Englifh ; he underftands Hofbandry, mows weil, and af- fe€ts to be thonght a Man of Senfe. He bad on, and car- ried with him when he Run away, a Saxon blue Frizz Jacket with {mall Metal Buttons, Slath Sleves lined with white Bays, a brown Fuftian Uader - Jacket without Sleves, fcarlet Everlafting Breeches, Yarn Stockings almoft white, a Pair of new Shoes, one Cotton and Linnen white, and one Wollen Check Shirt, and an old Hat and Cap. Whoever fhall apprehend faid' Runaway, and briog him to his faid Mafter in Portfmouth aforefaid, or fecure him fo that he may have him again, fhall have Ten Dorrars '‘Reward,and all neceffary Charges-paid by Fames Dwyer. 1f the faid Scipio will of his own Accord (without put- ting me to the Charge of the above Reward) return homie, he fhall be kind!y received, and have his Abfcond- ing forgiven.
