Friday laft Captain Dunbar, late of the Snow Polly of Philadelphia, came here by Land from Bofton, having arrived at Cape Anne, the 11th Inftant, from Louifbourg, with 73 others, that had the Misfortune to be taken and carried into Cape Breton, as hasbeen zlready mentioned under the Bofton Hecad. Captain Dunbar informs us, That he failed from Cape Henlopen the 19th Day of December, and was taken _the zsthfollowing, by a Privateer Sloop, of 8 Carriage Guns, belonging to Louifbourg, to which Place he was fent ; that 29 Sail of Enolith Vefleis had been fent in there fince Sep- imber lait, moft of which were already mentioned in the Yapeis ; that the Garrifon of Louifbourg confitted of about ~:00 Men, who were fo much in Want of Provifions, that “art of them offered to releaie a Number of Englith Sstmen, bver whom they were Centry, provided they would carry hem to Halifax in a Privateer then inthe Harbour ; which 1¢ Seamen agreed 10, but the Soldiers, affraid of being de- :Cred, fell oot among them(:lves, and put a Stop to the ‘ho'e ; and thatnot one Vefiel of Force was in the Harbour F Louilbourg the 3d of this Inftant May. Latt Week a large white Bottom Schooner of 14 Carriage Guns, and a great Number of Men, fuppofed to be a French Privateer, was feen to take « Sloop within a League of Block- Ifland ; upon which the Prople there immediately fent an Account of the fame to Rhade Ifland, where in a few Hours they equipp’d a Brig and a Sloop which they fent in queft of her, bufwe have not yet heard of their Succefs. Lawrence wich his Company, belonging to the Ship that Captain Comrin ard others faw afhore on the 1fle of tables (as formerly menticned) ; fhe was bound from Gib- raltdr for Virginia, but taker by the French ; who after they were afhore, upon having fc.ve Difference, fired upon Capt.
