'Aged Middletown Man Ends His Life in Pond Middletown, July 3—As predicted in a note ha wrote, the body of Peter Johnson, 81, was found in Rubber Mill pond by police yester- day. Despondency is believed to have been the cause of the suicide. The aged man resided with his daughter, Beda, who returned from work at noon and found the note. She summoned police and the recov- ery of the body followed. A. D. T. MEN INJURED Hartford, July 3—Two American District Telegraph Company em- ploves, Edgar Edmundson and Al- bert Adriance, were injured early yesterday morning while speeding to the Billings & Spencer plant. Their car skidded and crashed into a tree. The men became alarmed because the plant watchman failed to ring in at the designated hour. Later he made his call but the two men had already started for the plant. INDIAN BOMBING FAILS Peshawar, Indian, July 3 (A—An attempt was made to derail the in- coming Calcutta mail train near Peshawar last night by persons who placed a bomb undernearth the rails.
