FIVE DEATHS OVER SUNDAY N STATE Two Men Killed by Cars, Woman Fatally Burned By_the Associated Press. Two meén were struck and killed by automobiles, a woman was fatal- 1y burned, while the body of another ‘woman was found slumped against a building over the week-end in Connecticut. An accidental fall down a cellar stairway caused a fifth vio- lent death. Two of the, five violent deaths occurred in Bridgeport while Middlefield, Waterbury and New Haven each reported one. The body of Mrs. Josephine Calise, 83, was found slumped against a building in Waterbury about 15 min- utes after she had left her home, presumably to visit a neighbor. Po- lice believe she committed suicide. Mrs. Etta Summer, 53, one of three women accidentally burned in New Haven over the week-end, died in a hospital of third degree burns which she suffered while putting some coal into a stove. A live coal fell on a piece of paper lying on the floor and the flames spread to her clothing. An automobile accidént in Bridge- port resulted in the-death of An- drew Anderson, 60, while in Middle- field John A. Kolman, 50, was struck and fatally injured by a machine. Anderson was struck by a machine operated by Joseph Link of Bridge- port. Warren T. Slowne, 23, of West Ha- ven, was the operator of the car in- volved in the Middlefield accident. Both drivers were arrested. ‘William F. Sampson, 56, died of & fractured skulj shortly after he wag found unconscious at the bot- tom of the cellar stairs in his Bridgeport home. He is believed fo have fallen down the stairway, while going into the cellar to tend to his furnace. J., March 24, (P)— Speaking before a large gathering of Hungarian workers at the Newark Labor Lyceum yesterday, ~ Count Michael Karolyi, Hungarian social- ist leader, assailed fascist ideals, de- claring that he came with “propa- ganda especlally against it. “Had I succeeded back in 1913,” he said. “with the idea of more rights for the, people, then there would have been no war. It was forced on them. Their rights existed only on paper.” The flery count, first president of Hungary's one-time republic, called fascism the greatest menace to ‘world peace. As long 4s fascism exists in Furope, Karolyi declared, readjust- ment of economic problems would be impossible. 3 Herald Classified Headings Announcements 1-BURIAL LOTS, MONUMENTS 2—DEATH NOTICES 3—FLORISTS 3-A—LANDSCAPE GARDENING 4—FUNERAL DIRECTORS 6—LOST AND FOUND §—PERSONALS 7—STORE ANNOUNCEMENTS Automotive $—AUTO AND TRUCK AGENCIES 9—AUTOS AND TRUCKS FOR BALE 10—AUTOMOBILES FOR EXCHANGE 11—AUTO PARTS AND ACCESSORIES 2—AUTOMOBILES WANTED 13—AUTOS—TAXI SERVICE 14—GARAGES TO LET SKIPPY THE HERALD CLASSIFIED ADS Alphabetically Arranged for Quick and Ready Reference LINE RATES for CONBECUTIVE INSERTIONS Prepald .10 24 Charge 13 .27 1 line 1 line 1 day . 5 days.
