The trial is one of a series ot inquiries to determine whether Mother Bentivoglio, an [Itallan noblewoman who died in 1905, “pricticed virtues to an herofc de- gree,” as many aver, and thus was deserving of recreation as a saint. The Very Rev. Albert Klever ot 8t. Meinrad's abbey, Evanaville, Il has been named *‘vice pestulator” to present the case for Mother Mary Magdalen. Rev. Peter Gannon of Omaha is prosecutor, or “devils’ ad- vocate.” Father Klever said the first tri- bunal to determine the question of sainthood was held in the diocese of Indianapolis last summer. Another tribunal in New Orleans has just adjourned.
