WCARTHY'S FATHER STAYS ON HIS JOB Pareat of Wealthy Doctor Will Still Run Elevator New Haven, Feb. 12 (UP)—Al- though Dr. James S. McCarthy of Greenwich has inherited more than $2,000.000 from hia wife, the late Mrs. Margaret Huntington Smith McCarthy, his 62 year old father will continue to operate a freight clevator in the post office building here. James S. McCarthy, white-haired and bent by toil, has little to say about the millions which he hears his son now possesses. “That is James' business.” he mutters and steps into the elevator whose control he has gripped for 12 years. “My husband hasn't any idea of giving up his job and T don't see why he shou d.” said Mrs. McCarthy at her small Clark street flat, There i a slightly ‘ncredulous air in their attitude toward their son's reported millions. They have read it in the newspapers—but it hardly seems possible that their “Jimmy” could be a millionaire. His com- munication with the family during recent years has been slight.
