Landers S Despite a strong uphill fight by the Stanley Rule basketball team in the first of three Industrial League games played at the Tabs hall last night, Fafnir Bearing, playing in great form, retained an early lead and won 27 to 20. Fafnirs are now in third place, exclusively, within a few percentage points of Stanley Rule which retained its second-place standing despite its defeat. In the second game of the night, New Britain Machine defeated Lan- 4 to 14, and the last resulted in a 21 to 15 victory for Russell & Erwia over Stanley Works, Rulers Off Form Fafir had its strongest lincup in the fisld with “Gerry” Gierochow- ki, rangy center, back on the squad | after being out of town on a business | trip.
