This country of superb Roman re. mains, well preserved in the Afri. can climate, centers in Tunis and Algeria, but stretches as far west as Volubilis, near Fes, Morocco. Ancient Cathage, Timgad, Dje- mila, Volubilis and dosens of other Roman cities are being excavated and repaired by French, archaeolo- gists. A campaign has been under- taken throughout France to awak- cn interest in ,Roman Africa, apart from the regular attraction of mod- ern Tunis and Algeria. |ITHE NEW BI8 MAIN ST. Because of the fact that the New Britain General hospital staff is busier than it has been any time for 8 year, the regular meeting of the nurses and Internes acheduled for’ today was cancelled. It is felt by hospital officials that neither nurses lor internes can be spared for a full hour at noon at this time. Not ainge this time last year have the facilities of the hospital been %0 taxed. The total number of pa- tients approaches the maximum rec- ord of the institution. Dr. T. Archaeologists Find Armor Clad Warrior Ssentes, Hungary, Feb. 1 (—Pro- | fessor Gabriel Czallaky, head of the archeological expedition of the Uni- versity of Ssegedin, has discovered near here the body of a seventh cen- tury goldsmith, clad in ancient steel armor. The treasure, which was found in the region where the grave of Attila, the great leader of the Hunnish hordes, is believed to lie, is looked upon as a rich contribution to Avar bistory. The Avars were a warring trihe, who preceded the Huns in their in- vasion of Europe. They are asid by some historians to have eclipsed At- tila's sanguinary expioits, vandalism and atrocities.
