Countless small affairs have kept society on the go. Martha Moore’s tea at her studio in Kensington on Monday last was one of the high lights of the week. Tuesday a meeting of the New Britain Woman's Club claimed the attention of many. Dr. Richard Burton, an esteemed speaker in New Britain, addressed the gathering and as always drew forth a record breaking attendance of prominent women from the social and civic life of the town. On Wednesday there were all sorts of smaller parties, bridge club gatherings, with teas or luncheons, Dinner parties, often followed by the theater or the cinema shows, not to forget the colorful French Cafe sup- per party the Stanley Galpins gave at their home in Berlin. Thursday the Burns club reception, dinner and dance at the Hotel Burritt was a gala affair for some 150 persons. Through the course of some twenty years this annual party has gone on, each season gaining in popularity so much that in recent years the ticket sale has necessarily been limited. On Friday again, bridges and teas featured the days events. Formost among these was the luncheon party which Miss Georgia Parker gave at the Shuttle Meadow club‘fm; thf members of her card club. INIGHT the Arthur Kimballs give their long talked of and much anticipated Mexican Fiesta. Despite the many gay affairs of the past week, this party has held first thought, cos- tumes have been planned, dinner parties arranged, everything done to make it the gala party it is sure to be. Among those who are having guests to dine preceding the entertainment at the Shuttle Meadow club are, Mr. and Mrs. Elisha Cooper, Mr. and Mrs. George Coit, Mr. and Mrs. James North, Mr. and Mrs. Lauren Banford, Mr. and Mrs. Maxwell Porter, Mr. and Mrs. Louis Jones, Mr. and Mys. Harold L. Hatch and Mr. and Mrs. Luther Parker, The guests at these affairs will appear in cos- tumes for the later event. Masks will not be worn, the color of the affair to be supplied in tl.re t‘ropical garments of the dancers. MORROW Mr. and Mrs. William H. Booth are giving two parties at their home on Forest street.
