LINK SCHOOL AL IN JENELRY THEFT Daughter of Brockton City| Chemist Is Named Brockton, Mass., Nov. 28 (UP)— John H. Flannery, 21, of Bridge- water, admitted in police court here today that he had received stolen jewels from Miss Ruth Bolling, 19 year old Brockton High school senior. A warrant was issued several days ago for the arrest of the girl, charged with implication in a series of burglaries in which the loot | totalled thausands of dollars. This warrant has not been served because police have not been able | to locate Miss Bolling, but following | the disclosures in court today, her father, City Chemist George A. Bol- | ling, agreed to surrender his daugh- ter immediately. According to Flannery's testimony the jewels had been stolen from a Brockton home in one of the breaks with which authorities are seeking to connect the high school girl. Flannery was held in $500 bond for the Iebruary term of the grand Jury. Two high school boys, George Grinnell and Winthrop Shaw, are being held in connection with the burglaries. Authorities have ques- tioned other students but thus far only Grinnel and 8haw have been brought before the court. On the witness stand today, Flan- nery testified that Miss Bolling had given him the stolen jewels—a valu- able brooch and a string of pearls —and asked him to-dispose of them. The jewels had been stolen from the home of Mrs. Lebaron Atherton, wife of a wealthy chair store furni- ture dealer late in the summer. According to Flannery, Miss Bol- ling told him that if he could sell th” jewels he could keep §10 and give her the balance. He said he tried to dispose of them without success. When police began investi- gating the series of robberies, Flan- nery said he decided to tell police | about the jewels, which were still in his possession. he would have hi as soon as possible.. were that she would be Friday morning.
