The entire eight floor is being re- modeled for headquarters and on other floors will be quartered the democratic senatorial and congres- sional committees. Temporary offices already have been established and the first meet- ing of the unofficial cabinet, the | members of which probably will torm the executive committee of the campaign, was held there yesterday. Attending the meeting were Mr. Raskob, Senator Peter Goelet Gerry of Rhode Island, chairman of the advisory committee; Senator Key Pittman of Nevada, James J. Hoey, John F. Gilchrist, George R. Van Namee, manager of Governor | Smith's pre-convention campaign, Col. Herbert H. Lehman, chairman of the finance committee and Mrs. Henry Moskowitz. | With the exception of the two senators all those in the group have been advisers of Governor Smith in past years. 1t was decided to form a women's | advisory committee to be headed by | Mrs. Franklin D. Roosevelt, wife of | the man who at three democratic | conventions nominated Governor | Smith for the presidency. | Mr. Raskob said the question of | establishing regional headquarters would depend upon “developing con- | ditions.” | In his first press conference, | which followed the meeting, Mr. | Raskob asserted that “any number” | ©f his republican friends had as- sured him they were going to sup- port Gov. Smith.
