PICYS COMMITTEES FOR MAPLE HILL President W. F. Middlemas Se- lects Improvement Workers Newington, July 13—William Middlemas recently elected dent of the Maple Hill Improvement Society has announced the names of the members of the committee which it was decided to appoint Mrs. Douglas A. Johnston of Frederick street is chairman of the | committee on gas service in Maple Hill. The service has been promised by the New Britain Gas Light Co Mrs. Johnston will be assisted by Dr. A. § Grant, president of the so- ciety last year, and Dr. William E. Norton. Richard B. Lienhard has been named chairman of the membership committee and will be assisted by Mrs. William H. Fitzell and Mrs. F. C. Teich. The committee on the laying of sidewalks is headed by Dr. Grant and iacludes W. F. Hine and Mr: Roy Miller. The committee will en- deavor to encourage residents in Maple Hill, who have no sidewalks in front of their properties, to have them laid as soen as possible, The committee will also attempt to have the contract for any sidewalks all given to the same contractor in or- der to bring about a savings those having the work done The committee which will confer with the selectmen in an attempt to have some of the roads in Maple Hill repaired, will be headed by Harry H. Howard, who will be as- sisted by J. T, Hart and Mrs. Rich- ard Hulbert. Jr. Maple Hill avenus and Thompson street are in need of repair Albert F. Nordstrom has heen named chairm@an of the committee in charge of conferring with offi- cials of the trolley company in re- gard to the clearing of the ground bordering on the tracks running through Maple Hill. Mr. Nordstrom will be assisted by W. Manville Johnson, and Mrs. William H. Allen.
