u COMMUNISTS ARE MUSCLE SHOALS IN (Continued from First Page) Former Leaders Once More in PREMIER RlVERA | ADMITTED AGAIN| DOUBTFUL STATUS, 15 NOT T0 MARRY| Breaks Oif His Engagement lolf G I s hflg | dential disapproval of a bill However, the U. 8. court of claims Moscow, Russia, June § (P—The readmission of Gregory Zinovicv, Leon Kameneff, M. Piatakoff and several other leaders of the opposi- tion, to the communist party was { claims bill left foreshadowed today by a declara- | tion made public in Pravda by M. Yaroslavsky, secreta munist control commission. These leaders, who at the time of | the wholesale expulsion of the Trotaky adherents agreed to acq esce to the decision of the cor T ist congress, are likely to come back to the party shortly. At the same time all other of the Trotzky adherents werg notified in | Pravda that they may back into the party's folds now that the 8ix months’ probation period is over, but were warned that they must come back iudividually com- pletely disarmed of oppositionary beliefs, each being admissifle on his own merits only. Last December almost a hundred leading figures in the opopsition minority led by leon Trow were expelled from the comm party because of steady opposition to the policies being followed by the Pparty’s chiefs. Trotzky himself was among those expelled Kameneff, Zinoviev and several other of the minority lcaders later offered unconditional acquiescence to all decislons of the communist congress and agreed to discontinue propaganda for their view. The central committee, of which Jo- eph Salin is the secretary, decided hat the expelled members might apply for reinstatement individually ' ¥* but not before the expiration of six months from the date of their ex- pulsion. In dividing the oppositionaries up into groups, Kamencff and Zinoviev were placed among the *penitents™ and both were assigned to jobs in the state education department until the central committee saw it to re- sore them to their membership in the party. Trotzky, Christian Rakovsky and Karl Radek were the leading figures in the so-called non-penitent group | and their punishment was therefore | more drastic. Trotzky was sent to Turkestan and almost no news of his activities has come out since his e: ile. No term was placed upon Try sky's exile and it is possible that will remain in the small Turkestan village Alma Ata indefinitely.
