Plerce followed him to give . Meriden another to again tie the count. Again Boucher came down the floor and after breaking up a pretty play by Meriden, scnt a screamer whizzing past Purccll. Plerce again came to Meriden's res- cue and just before the period end- ed, he caged the last goal of the frame and Meriden led by the score of 7 to o. The third period was about as hectic a frame as has been scen in any game here this year. It was featured by a clash between Morri- son of Mar'dcn and Boucher of New Pritain. _Both got into a scrimmage in the c3ner and they pushed eaci other, son pushed Boucher in the face und the little Néw Britain forward flew at the hurky Maroon halfback like a-game cock. Referee Rorty sep- parated the men and called a foul on Boucher. To make up for this, Boucher started in to play harder than ever. He brought the ball down single- handed and shot one through Pur- cell's legs. Willlams and Pierce swung into action and the result was a nifty goal by Williams. Then Boucher and Alexander hit first time during the game and Alex- ander popped one in after a min- ute's play. With the crowd in a frenzy and the score 8 to 7 in favor of Meriden, the two New Britain for- wards carried the ball down the line and hombarding Purcell's legs, Alexander took a scooting pass from Boucher and rolled it over th sill to tie the score. There was only a minute left to play. The teams went into the overtim: seasion with New D:itain keeping the fierce pace up to the limit. Pierce, Morrison and Lundevills were drawn to New Britain's end of the floor and Boucher broke loose 10 sent the ball to the other end Purcell, caught alone, did noble work and stopped four elants for th zoal hut the fifth was a fake poke by Bioucher, a pass to Alexander and u goal glving Ne n one of the hardest-earned victorics of the en- tire hockey year. Muirhead played a nice combina tion offensive and defensive game while Plount got going in the third period and held Meriden safely out of the cage. “Corky” Purcell was the star of the Meriden defense. Doth Morrison and Lungeville played a nice floor game. Bristol Here Tonight The Bristol team plays here to- night for the first time since the teum was transpired from Walling- ford.
