Edward VII of England, President de Alvear of Argentina, & host of diplomets, statesmen, sol- diers and men of affairs have been among her steady customers. She is 80 used to that sort of patronage that she executes her menus only “sur commande.” You cannot drop into her modest little place and ex- pect to be served on the spot. It simply isn’t done. “I will not serve truffles in De- cember,” says “La Mere Genot,” “because they 'aren’t ripe at that season. My customers must let me be the judge of what is reasonable. Otherwise I shall have rothing at all to do with them. “Nor will I allow my. gentlemen clients to smoke between courses. “The food I serve here is essen- tlally and simply French, We French have spent 20 centuries per- fecting our cookery, and we have no lessons to learn from &nybody.” “La Mere Genot” enjoyed the unique privilege of going to the tront in the winter of 1915 to serve a Christmas dinner to ler son, & sergeant, and all members of his | section. with its severe itching and burning quickly soothed and cleared away by Resinol Imported GOLF HOSE New Colors and Fancy Patterns $1.00 . $4.50 GLOBE CLOTHING HOUSE Cor.
